CCCPA Conducts 2nd Training on Combating Human Trafficking and Smuggling of Migrants in 2016

Cairo, Egypt – CCCPA held a training course on “Combating Human Trafficking and Smuggling of Migrants” from 6-10 November 2016. This was the second training on the same topic to be conducted under the project “Consolidating Peace, Security and Stability in Africa - 2016”.
 
The aim of the training was to build the capacities of participants on topics related to combating the crimes of human trafficking and smuggling of migrants. The training familiarized participants with the fundamental concepts, trends and root causes of trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants, as related to the international and regional cooperation frameworks, in addition to equipping them with the necessary skills required to enhance their capabilities on case investigation and victim identification and protection. 
 
The training was an opportunity for participants from different countries in the region to exchange their national experiences and share their best practices in combating these crimes. The training brought together 26 civilian, military and police personnel from Egypt, Burundi, Chad, Morocco, South Sudan, Tunisia and Uganda.
