MINUSCA Pre-Deployment Training
Cairo, Egypt - CCCPA held a pre-deployment training (PDT) for Egyptian military peacekeepers who will be joining the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). 131 military peacekeepers attended the training from 7-16 April 2019. To date, Egypt’s total contribution to MINUSCA is 1,169 peacekeepers.   The training starts with a conflict analysis of the situation in the Central African Republic and MINUSCA’s mandate. CCCPA, the Government of Japan and the United Nations Development Programme Launch a New Phase of Cooperation
Cairo, Egypt – CCCPA hosted the signing ceremony of a new phase of cooperation with the Government of Japan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on 14 April 2019. The new agreement marks the fifth phase of the project, “Consolidating Peace, Security and Stability in Africa”, initially launched in 2009.    The ceremony was attended by H.E. Pre-Deployment Training for Egyptian Troops Joining MINUSCA

Enhancing Arab Women's Participation in Peace Processes
The contribution of women as powerful agents for peace has long been acknowledged. The landmark United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, adopted in 2000, acknowledged not only the differentiated impact of conflict on women and girls, but also women's significant role in conflict prevention and resolution, peacekeeping, and peacebuilding. It paved the way for eight subsequent resolutions that address barriers to women’s effective participation, as well as the protection and rights across the conflict cycle.
