CCCPA Delivers Training on Strategic Crisis Management

Cairo, Egypt – CCCPA organized a basic course on “Strategic Crisis Management” in Cairo, from 29 January-2 February 2017.
The course aims to elevate participants' knowledge on different types of crises and to develop their skills on strategic planning for crisis management. The training covered the roles of crisis managers; concepts associated with crisis management; basic components of a risk assessment; emergency planning; decision making; key elements of early warning systems; and crisis response. Using scenario-based exercises, participants applied theoretical concepts related to crises to develop a crisis management framework, which includes crisis preparedness, crisis response and post-crisis evaluation.
Twenty-five Egyptian and African diplomats, police and military professionals, as well as researchers, joined the five-day training. Countries represented were Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia, South Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana, Guinea and Chad.
 
The training comes as part of the current UNDP project funded by the Government of Japan, “Consolidating Peace, Security and Stability in Africa  - 2016".

A second training will take place from 26 February - 2 March 2017.
