Pre-Deployment Training for Egyptian Troops Joining MINUSCA
Cairo, Egypt - CCCPA organized a pre-deployment training (PDT) for Egyptian military peacekeepers who will be joining the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). 182 military peacekeepers attended the training from 17-27 March 2019. To date, Egypt’s total contribution to MINUSCA is 1,169 peacekeepers.   The training starts with a conflict analysis of the situation in the Central African Republic and MINUSCA’s mandate. Enhancing Arab Women's Participation in Peace Processes
The contribution of women as powerful agents for peace has long been acknowledged. The landmark United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, adopted in 2000, acknowledged not only the differentiated impact of conflict on women and girls, but also women's significant role in conflict prevention and resolution, peacekeeping, and peacebuilding.
