Building African Capacities for Combating Human Trafficking and Smuggling of Migrants
Cairo, Egypt – The scale and complexity of the current crisis of forced migration, refugee flows, internal displacement and human trafficking are unprecedented. Conflicts, state collapse, protracted instability, and the erosion of the rule of law, present traffickers and smugglers with opportunities to illegally profit. In 2017, human trafficking alone generated over 150 billion dollars worldwide in illicit financial flows. CCCPA Participates in the Annual Meeting of the African Union’s Civilian Strategic Support Group
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - CCCPA took part in the Annual Meeting of the Civilian Strategic Support Group (CSSG), organized by the African Union Commission (AUC) from 17-18 October 2018. CCCPA in the 73rd Tahrir Dialogue Series
Cairo, Egypt – CCCPA took part in the 73rd Tahrir Dialogue Series, titled “Peacekeeping Operations: Lessons Learned from 60 Years of Participation”. The session was organized by the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy of the American University in Cairo on 3 October 2018, with the support of the Embassy of Ireland in Cairo. MINUSCA Pre-Deployment Training
Cairo, Egypt - CCCPA organized a Pre-Deployment Training (PDT) for Egyptian military peacekeepers who will be joining the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). 105  military peacekeepers attended the training from 30 September to 10 October 2018. To date, Egypt’s total contribution to MINUSCA is 1,166 peacekeepers. The training starts with a conflict analysis of the situation in the Central African Republic and MINUSCA’s mandate.
