General Authors’ Guidelines

Papers must not have been previously published, or scheduled for presentation, at any other organizations. Works submitted to CCCPA should also not be currently under review elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for all copyrighted materials reproduced in their submission. Once the manuscript is approved by CCCPA, it becomes the sole property of CCCPA; all copyrights then are those of CCCPA. Registration in CCCPA research database

Author must register to CCCPA researchersÔÇÖ database by submitting a short biography (100 words), and a CV highlighting relative experience to CCCPA mandate, education level, years of experience, previous publications, expertise in the field.

Paper Submission

All submissions should be sent electronically to highlighting in the subject the type of the paper.
  1. Occasional Papers (15-20 pages)
  2. Policy Briefs (6-8 pages)
  3. Book Reviews (3-4 pages)
Word Count

Researchers are asked to submit the word count for their paper when completing the submission form online. To submit a paper to the CCCPA workshop, we require a draft paper to be submitted for review; an abstract will not suffice.

Length of full paper submission should be as follows
  • Occasional Papers (15-20 pages): 5000-7000 words (excluding tables and references).
  • Policy Briefs (6-8 pages): 3000-4000 words (excluding tables and references).
  • Book Reviews (3-4 pages): 1500-2000 words (excluding tables and references).
General Paper Format Requirements

The names and affiliations of authors must be removed from the main document/file. Author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s) must be on a separate cover page. The cover page should include contact information, title of the paper, and a total word count. When making a submission, please make ensure that the format requirements below are adhered to, and that requested information is included in the order given:
  • Use Times New Roman 12pt and single spacing;
  • In the case of both uploads, the entire paper must be submitted in ONE document;
  • Do not use the MS Word Header and Footer function for anything other than the title of the paper;
  • References must be Harvard style;
  • If your paper includes graphics, please ensure these are of a high quality and please consider your final file size;
  • No changes in the paper title, abstract, authorship, and actual paper can be made after the submission deadline; and
  • Submissions must be in English.
Additional Information for Accepted Papers

Manuscripts submitted should offer something of potential value to scholars, policymakers, or practitioners in our field or related ones (e.g., useful reflections, findings, best practices, etc). the following is brief guidelines for papers:
  • Occasional Papers:
    • investigate;
    • Literature Review: this section should:
      • First, contain the major studies that have been done on this subject.
      • Second, identify and cite other sources that found particularly interesting and useful for this paper.
    • Body of paper which includes the main subject, statistical study, and graphs;
    • Conclusion summarizing the major findings
    • Sources used
  • Policy Briefs
    • Executive summary aims to convince the reader further that the brief is worth in-depth investigation;
    • Context and importance of the problem to convince the target audience that a current and urgent problem exists which requires them to take action
    • A short overview of the policy option(s) in focus, and an argument illustrating why and how the current or proposed approach is failing; and
    • Policy recommendations to provide a detailed and convincing proposal of how the failings of the current policy approach need to change.
  • Book Reviews :
    • Give complete bibliographical information at the top of the page (title, author, publisher, place of publication, date of publication, number of pages, and name of reviewer).
    • Briefly (in one or two well-written sentences) summarize the thesis of the book.
    • Finally, a summary section should be attached. How does this book differ from other treatments of the same subject matter? What is unique and valuable about this approach as opposed to the others? Would the reviewer recommend this book above others? Why or why not?
